K-12 Career & College Readiness

Welcome Message

Welcome to Career & College Readiness!

My name is Stacy Guertler and I am excited to start my 29th year with Union City Community Schools. As the K–12 Career & College Readiness Coordinator, my role is to support students, families, and educators in preparing every learner for success after high school—whether that path leads to college, technical training, military service, or a career.

Career and College Readiness (CCR) is about more than choosing a job or applying to college—it’s about equipping students with the academic knowledge, workplace skills, and real-world experiences they need to thrive.

What I Do

  • Career Exploration – Help students discover their interests, strengths, and potential career paths.

  • College Readiness – Provide resources on admissions, financial aid, and academic planning.

  • Work-Based Learning – Connect students with job shadowing, internships, and career fairs.

  • Partnerships – Collaborate with local businesses, colleges, and community organizations.

  • Staff & Family Support – Share tools, training, and guidance to ensure a consistent K–12 approach.

How I Support Students & Families

  • Guidance lessons and classroom activities aligned to CCR goals

  • Individual and group advising for postsecondary planning

  • College and career events (fairs, visits, workshops)

  • Resources on scholarships, financial aid, and career pathways

Our Goal

Every student graduates future-ready—with a plan, the skills, and the confidence to pursue their dreams.
