Updated Covid-19 Guidance

COVID-19 Update

In accordance with the rescission of the quarantine order by the BHSJ Community Health Agency on October 1st, UCCS will be making the following change in our mitigation strategies.

Beginning October 4th,  we will no longer be quarantining close contacts. We will be identifying close contacts and reporting them to the health department, but we will not be requiring them to quarantine.

Instead, we will recommend that they quarantine for 10 days.  The quarantine period may end after 7 days if the student tests negative on or after day 5.

If the parents chose NOT to follow the recommendation and quarantine, the student may continue to attend school but we will ask them to wear a mask for 5 school days, and to allow us to take their temperature each morning to screen them for illness.

We continue to ask all parents to check your child each day for signs of illness - fever, coughing, etc.. and keep home from school any child that may be ill.  Any child displaying symptoms of Covid-19 should be tested so that they may receive treatment and may isolate to prevent others from becoming ill.

Thank you for your help and support as we continue to manage our way through this pandemic.
